Roy & Marilyn Keys
Burkina Faso, West Africa
Roy and Marilyn Keys have been working in Burkina Faso for seven years. Burkina Faso, one of the ten poorest countries of the world, is located in French-speaking West Africa. Roy is an agro-forester, with a Ph. D. in watershed management. He has been serving in a variety of activities, including helping villages to establish tree nurseries, encouraging tree planting, partnering with a well-drilling mission to establish clean water sources in villages, and preaching occasionally. Marilyn, a registered dietitian with a Master’s in nutrition, has been serving as a consultant in a center for the rehabilitation of severely malnourished children. The center, which is part of a Christian clinic that has been instrumental in spreading the Gospel in this area, is entirely run by nationals. Marilyn’s role has been to identify areas of their service that could be improved, and then developing ways to make those improvements.
